For the past thirty years, Bheema Shankar has been deeply immersed in the world of music, serving as a music teacher, mentor, singer, lyric writer, and music composer. He received initial training from Smt. Ammaji, Sri Sista Suryanarayana, Padmabhushan Sri Dr. Nookala Chinna Satyanarayana and valuable tutelage from “Sangeetha Kalanidhi” Padma Vibhushan D.K. Pattammal. Bheema Shankar's contributions to the music industry are remarkably diverse, spanning roles as a playback singer, music director, and creator of music for various mediums, including films, short films, devotional music albums, Punjabi album, jingles, and fusion music concerts. One of the standout performances in his career involves singing the Bhagavad Gita in Telugu across various ragas, earning repeated telecasts on Doordarshan. Collaborating with legendary singer SP Balasubramanyam and other playback singers showcased his exceptional compositional skills. He works with various artists in India, Netherlands, United States on music projects.
Bheema Shankar received blessings from spiritual leaders such as Sri Paramacharya of Kanchi, Chinna Jeeyar Swami, Yerpedu Swamiji and others.
His successful collaboration with Sreedhar Athreya resulted in the creation of Chinnari Chitti Geethalu, a Telugu jingle music album with animation that gained immense popularity with numerous hits on YouTube. Also composed music for Telugu films. He sang in various places such as Shilpa Kala Vedika, Ravindra Bharati, Telugu university, SV Auditorium.In the digital realm, Bheema Shankar actively contributes to platforms like the Humm Bhakti channel, Spiritual cheatsheet channel on YouTube, and lends his voice to SVBC and other TV channels. His wide-ranging engagement in the field is evident through participation in All India Radio music programs, TV shows, and interviews.
Bheema Shankar's musical journey further includes rendering the Bhagavad Gita in various ragas and participating in over 25 episodes of the Carnatic music series Saptaswaralu on Doordarshan, a national TV channel in India. Beyond his performances, he has composed hundreds of songs, appeared on TV shows, and authored articles on music, which have found a place in esteemed music magazines.
