Azadi – Studies on Democratic Decentralisation and Women Freedom Fighters of India : 75 Years of Democratic Decentralisation and Remembering the Unsung Heroines of Parakkulam

The studies included here primarily focus on the history, evolution and present state and challenges of Democratic Decentralization in our country, through the introduction of RTI Act and policies fortifying federal administration and Gender justice in the State. Substantial attention is also given to locate and record the efforts and struggles of forgotten luminaries of Indian freedom struggle, with special focus on the heroines from Parakkulam locality, who had contributed significantly to the Nationalist Movement. The paper included here were presented in a One Day National Seminar organised by the Department of English and the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), NSS Arts and Science College, Parakkulam, in collaboration with the Indian Council for Social Science Research (ICSSR), New Delhi on 23 June 2023, as part of celebrating Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav – 75 Years of India’s Independence.
