Description

The Landfall is a novel set around Kolkata and the surrounding districts, focusing on a refugee family from East Bengal. The novel takes us through the journeys of the family members as their lives diverge during times of prosperity, but converge again around 2020 amid social tension, natural disaster, political turmoil and the Covid-19 pandemic. The story extends from the stench and squalor of refugee camps to hallowed corporate offices and resorts, taking us through dance parties, cyclones, protest movements, prayer sessions and the Covid-19 pandemic. All characters, communities, organizations and incidents mentioned in the story are fictitious.
