‘Yabbo’ is a novel written by Subhash Kinholkar, which is a biography of the problems of the Mati Vadar community. In this, many sorrows and pains, including customs, traditions and festivals, continue to unfold. Modern machinery has literally reduced pottery. Employment was not available as before. Work came on starvation. Some turned to farming. Yet the veins on the forehead swelled with problems. Lacking adequate work, this rural society is turning to the surrounding districts and provinces in search of subsistence. The question of his permanent residence and employment is still pending. Lack of literacy. There are not enough well-equipped ashram schools for the education of children. We have to face the caste conditions of caste verification. There are not enough security facilities either. There is no land or village reserved for pig grazing. The question of stable housing has also been raised. It is hoped that this novel, which raises many such questions, will surely intrigue the reader with its rural dialect, communicative rhythm and frightening reality.
