COMMUNICATION NETWORK

"Communication Network: Fundamentals & Protocols" (2026) is a comprehensive textbook authored by engineering professors Swapnil Haribhau Kudke, Krushna Shalikram Telangre, Priyanka Pramod Mahalle, and Anup Madhukarrao Madghe to bridge the gap between abstract networking concepts and contemporary practices. Designed specifically for undergraduate engineering students, the book demystifies complex algorithms and layered architectures by systematically ascending the protocol stack?from foundational concepts like the history of the Internet and network topologies to sophisticated application-layer services like DNS and HTTP. The text is distinguished by its pedagogical approach, which prioritizes understanding the design decisions and trade-offs behind protocols over simple memorization, and it uniquely integrates security considerations throughout every chapter rather than treating them as an isolated topic. By combining theoretical rigor with practical examples and detailed diagrams, the authors aim to transform students from passive technology users into informed professionals capable of designing and managing the invisible infrastructure that connects the modern digital world.
