The book describes the early struggles of a young student trying to find a career in the 1970s, when job opportunities were few and the academic landscape bleak, leaving limited options for progression. Undaunted, his pursuit of excellence lands him in a coveted position as a scientist in a premier organization. Inexperienced and raw, he finds the journey tough and faces situations that demand deft and firm handling. He sails through most of them, though not always successfully.
