Tribes of Idamalayar

Adivasis are group of Tribal people who are never inscribed in the cultural history of the society. But they are the pioneers of the richest cultural heritage of India. The tribes residing on the Western Ghats of Kerala have unique cultural heritage. Vishavan or Malankudi was one of the tribal communities of Kerala which was once included and later exempted from the Scheduled Tribal List assuming that the tribal community got extinct. This book attempts to highlight the various problems faced by the tribal people, to point out how a minute carelessness can affect the existence of a Tribal community and also to regain the once lost identity and legacy, thereby proving the existence and uniqueness of the Vishavan or Malankudi tribal community.
