Cinderella throws her slippers

The storyline follows Cinderella, who lives a difficult life of servitude under her mean aunt. After her fairy godmother helps her attend a royal ball, Cinderella discovers a sign at an inn advertising for a caretaker. Throughout the ball, she realizes she would rather manage an inn than pursue a life with the prince. When the prince approaches her, she declines his dance to pursue her own path, throwing off her glass slippers as she leaves the palace.

Cinderella successfully secures the job at the inn, eventually taking full control and growing the business. Later, when the prince's page arrives with a slipper looking for his bride, Cinderella pretends the shoe does not fit to protect her independent life, ultimately choosing to continue her successful career as an innkeeper rather than becoming a princess.
